This collection contains over 1000 high quality JPEG images, each about 1200 pixels wide. The Greek world is well documented, with a rich collection of sites, buildings and facilities in Greece and some of its most important islands, Cyprus, Italy and Turkey. There are seven main folders containing images, which are Elgin Marbles, Islands, Italy & Sicily, Mainland Sites, Personalities, Turkey, Various.
Students using programs the Hellenika Photo CD will be able to find original images here, which they will be able to use in coursework assignments, PowerPoint presentations, or web pages. Some copyright restrictions apply.
This collection of images has been created as a complementary resource to the ROMANA Photo CD (© J-PROGS 2003) and as a useful image repository in its own right. The images included have been selected from a library of resources owned and regularly updated by the author.
A separate text file is found on the CD-ROM, which can be used as an index for the images, which have been keyworded to make it easy to find specific subjects. The classification of images on the CD-ROM should make for easy retrieval of pictures of given sites, and in turn, the index should make it easy to find pictures of artefacts or thematic subjects.
