Roman
Life 2.1 has seven sections, which are Art, Daily Life,
Death, Leisure, Public Buildings, Shops & Trade and Streets
& Towns. Many photographs and diagrams illustrate the texts,
taken all around the Mediterranean. The expansion of the program has
meant that its previous focus on Pompeii and Herculaneum has been
widened: so now the Towns section also features Dougga, Ephesus,
Pergamum and Philippi.Roman Life 2.1 is designed for use by students aged between 13 and 16. In the case of most users, about 80 minutes will be required for the completion of all tasks, when a percentage score will be generated for teacher reference. Should students not complete all the tasks set, teachers may refer to individual scores of quizzes, which are all logged. In addition, scores are kept of the total numbers of questions attempted and total scores gained for these.
J-PROGS
software has always
been easy to use and the all-new interface makes it even easier than
before to make progress. Coloured buttons encourage students to move
forwards (green) or backwards (red). This makes it very simple to
complete all the assignments in sequence. As a student commences on a
new section of a program, an awareness of the colour system may help
him or her to work through each section in a logical order.
The new interface has been designed from scratch, so it offers better networking capabilities than before. Network administrators can select score saving options ranging from "Don't save anything when student quits", to "Save scores to list of previous users", or "Save scores to hard disk". The list of previous users now keeps scores of the previous 50 users, which can be accessed and printed as a separate file for teacher records, if required.
