Medusa




Medusa is the name given to Julian Morgan's training business, which specialises in showing Classics teachers how to use ICT successfully in their teaching. Medusa is a partner in the CIRCE Project, a Classics and ICT Resource Course for Europe, an EU funded project aiming to promote good practice in ICT in Classics teaching across Europe.


Medusa runs regular courses in general ICT and Classics Teaching, as well as courses specialising in the use of Perseus on CD-ROM and online. Courses are run on demand as well as under our own programme of events. Please contact us for details, costs and conditions on julian@j-progs.com.

Medusa is an approved provider of INSET Training for Classics Teachers in association with the Joint Association of Classical Teachers (a registered charity, no. 313165). In addition, Medusa is approved to provide training for Perseus, in association with Yale University Press (UK) and the Perseus Project (USA).

A Good Practice Guide for the use of ICT in Classics Teaching lends advice on many aspects of using computers in teaching classical subjects: a printed version is also  available free of charge on request (420k in size, pdf file).

The CIRCE Manual is a document brought into being by European funding and the participation of a willing body of Classics teachers in different European countries. It contains advice on good practice, as well as a whole range of case studies into how ICT is being used in schools across the EU. This work is still ongoing and your comments and feedback to the Manual will be most welcome (beware - around 4mb in size, pdf file).
